“We should hurry
up..!! He’s gonna be there in the morning and I have so much to do..!!”
said Meera.
As worried as her, Arjun replied “Relax..!! We’ll make it on time..!!”
It was 3 am the morning and it had been one hell of a night--
drinking, clubbing, dancing..!! Aashish had turned 21 and what better reason to
celebrate and get wild..? They partied till their feet and livers gave up and
finally after much “tu mera bhai” and
“mein tera bhai” she managed to coax
Arjun to drop her home.
Arjun and Meera were like two sides of a coin – never apart,
always fighting..!! It was this love - hate relation between them that was both
the “envy” and the “talk” of the town. They were the most sought after couple,
err, friends – who just to be clear were “just friends..!!”. Well, obviously, this
chemistry between them did not go that well with Meera’s boyfriend – Rohan.
Meera was crazily in love with Rohan. They had been living
together as a couple for almost 3 years now and unlike others, they were very
open about their relationship status to the world, including their parents,
friends and colleagues. As per them, they were “almost married..!!”
“Gosh..!! Its 3..!!
Did I not tell you to leave early..?” said the impatient Meera.
“Wonder if I’ll be able to cook anything for
him.. Hmm, Chicken would be easy.. And yes, some rice..!! All set!! I think, I
am ready!!” Meera thought to herself
and smiled.
“Why do you love him
so much..?? Can you not party without him, for once..?? I really don’t understand
why is it you who is always sacrificing..?? He does not love you Meera..!!”
Said Arjun, who clearly now was getting irritated by Meera’s fearfulness of
being back home on time.
To this Meera replied, “You
haven’t been in love na, you would not know. It is all about being
selfless..!!”
“My ass..! You have
become a doormat..!!” said Arjun coldly, yet concerned.
Meera was quite. She did not want to get into an unnecessary
argument with Arjun at this hour. Ignoring what Arjun said, she thought to
herself, “Oh, I can make some awesome
salad.. I am sure Rohan is gonna love it..!!” and smiled her famous smile.
“Okey, we are home,
just drop me here.” Meera could not wait to jump off the car.
“Babe, you gotta think
about it..!! I am worried about you..!! This is just not right..!!” said
Arjun, completely neglecting Meera’s state of mind and heart.
Meera just looked at
him and replied, “Bye, I’ll call you..”
Meera was full of life and the “most favourite” of all her
friends and colleagues. She had an amazing “aura” and her big smile could light
up a dark room (as a million 1000 watt bulbs!!). Being a Virgo – she was an epitome
of perfection, drudgery and affection. She was attractive and fine looking,
with a very appealing personality. Known by many, friend of all – that was
Meera..!!
She hurriedly ran up to the lift lobby and hummed onto
Enrique’s “Tonight , I will be loving (f***ing)
you..” She seemed to be happy and was looking forward to meet Rohan, who
was on his way back from his hometown and was scheduled to reach at 7 in the
morning. She smiled yet again looking at herself in the mirror (in the lift)
and said, “I love you Rohan.. I know, I
will change you!! I gotta prove the world wrong..!! I will..!!”
